  • Celebrate Earth Day at the 2025 Rockland Harborside Cleanup!

    Saturday, April 26
    9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Harbor Park, 1 Pleasant Street, Rockland

We’re excited to celebrate Earth Day at the 2025 Rockland Harborside Cleanup again this year, and we hope you can join us!

Thanks to over 60 volunteers at last year’s Cleanup, we collected over 4,000 pieces of litter, including over 2,000 cigarette butts! Cleaning up our shared spaces as a community has a big impact. As a Cleanup volunteer, you’ll help collect litter around our community’s waterfront for a cleaner Rockland Harbor and waterfront. You’ll be provided with all the tools you need. Coffee and a snack will be served in the morning, and a community cookout for all volunteers will be held at noon.

This event is rain or shine. Please dress for the weather!

Please register for this event in advance. To register:

    • Sign up to volunteer. You can sign up individually, or as part of a group.
    • When you sign up, you’ll be prompted to sign an Injury Waiver and General Release form. All volunteers are required to sign this form.

On the day of the Cleanup, please wear or bring:

    • Closed-toe shoes
    • A warm layer
    • A rain layer
    • A bottle of water
    • Gardening gloves (optional – we’ll also provide gloves)

    Cleanup Schedule

    9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Orientation

Cleanup volunteers will meet at Harbor Park to receive Cleanup site assignments, have coffee and a morning snack, and receive orientation from site leaders. Local organizations will be tabling — make sure to say hi!

    10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Cleanup

Volunteers will head to their assigned Cleanup site with their site leaders and use provided materials to collect, separate, and record trash. Collected trash will be loaded into volunteer trucks and transferred to a City dump truck at Harbor Park.

    12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Community Cookout

All volunteers are welcome to enjoy a community cookout at Harbor Park in celebration of the day’s work!
