  • Rockland Public Library offers free web access to wireless devices such as smart phones, tablets, and laptops.  Users are required to sign the Library's internet use policy, available at the Information Desk.  Once signed, they are given the password for the wireless network. Your device should remember the password the next time yo are in the Library.

Interactions on the wireless network are not encrypted and could be intercepted.  Avoid entering confidential information unless you are sure the web site you are interacting with provides its own security mechanism, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encoding.  This is indicated by a small lock icon at the bottom of your browser.

    Important:

    • At this time, printing is available only from hard-wired library workstations. As a work-around, you may email yourself a document, and use a Library workstation to retrieve and print it.
    • Customers are responsible for configuring their own equipment.
    • Be prepared to use your laptop battery, as electric outlets are limited.
    • Be courteous to other Library users--please use headphones when playing audio files.

    Disclaimer:

Use of the wireless connection is entirely at risk of the user.  The Rockland Public Library disclaims all liability for loss of confidential information or damages resulting from that loss.

By choosing to use this service, wireless customers agree to adhere to the Library’s Internet Use Policy, posted at workstations and at the Information Desk.  The Library’s electronic resources may not be used for unlawful purposes or to view illegal content.  Violations may result in loss of computer / internet access.  Unlawful activities will be dealt with in a serious and appropriate manner.

Please view our Internet Acceptable Use and Safety Policy.
