The Economic and Community Development Department is committed to creating conditions that foster a healthy local economy. Our goals are to grow and diversify Rockland’s tax base, encourage the creation of jobs and make Rockland the place to do business in Midcoast Maine. There are a number of projects, programs and initiatives the Department is undertaking to retain and attract businesses and entrepreneurs to Rockland and assist businesses to startup and expand.

Technical Assistance for Businesses
The Department works in partnership with organizations that provide free business counselling services. We can connect you with business Counselors from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Maine Stream Finance.
