In 2019, through Resolve #31 (see below), the City of Rockland committed to:

  1. By 2025, the City of Rockland will obtain 100% of municipal electricity from renewable sources.
  2. By 2045, the entire community of Rockland will be carbon neutral.

The goal of 100% renewable municipal electricity was achieved through a commitment to a community solar project with net energy billing, and renewable energy included in our competitive electricity supplier’s portfolio.
