8.23.23 The recycle hopper and residential hopper have changed. They are clearly marked and any questions please see attendant.
On July 1, 2022 Transfer Station permits are increasing. $145.00 for a Resident Permit and $20.00 for a Second Sticker.
AS OF MAY 1ST, 2023 CITY HALL HOURS WILL CHANGE TO 7:30 AM TO 5:00 PM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY, AND 7:30 AM TO NOON ON FRIDAY.
As of February 17th 2024 the Rockland transfer station will no longer accept ash from wood stoves, fire pits or any type of burning.

  • Winter Reading Kick-off Book Discussion: There There by Tommy Orange

    Start off your winter reading with this book discussion brought to you by the Rockland Public Library and the Maine Humanities Council. There There, an award-winning novel by Tommy Orange, follows a varied cast of contemporary Native Americans, and is the theme for the Humanities Councils Reader’s Retreat 2024. This will be a two-part, two book series, with each book discussed fulfilling a winter reading challenge category. Attend this program for an extra draw for the prize! Facilitated by local poet Carol Bachofner. Participation in Reader’s Retreat or Winter Reading is NOT required to attend this program.
