  • “What is the Maine Arts Commission and What Can It Do for Me?” – A Talk by Martha Piscuskas

Have you seen artwork by Maine veterans at the Capitol Complex in Augusta? Have you attended a poetry recitation competition at your local high school? Do you know a Maine Arts Commission Fellow? (You might!) This presentation will share the programs and opportunities offered by the Maine Arts Commission, including grants, professional development, exhibitions, partnerships, networking, and more. Program Director Martha Piscuskas will also talk about their new Strategic Plan directions and the nitty gritties of how to apply for a grant, and will be available for questions and discussion.

Martha is a Program Director at the ME Arts Commission, previously the Director of Arts Education there. She is a visual artist who brings over 30 years of nonprofit organizational leadership alongside a deep understanding of Maine’s communities and culture. Before joining the Maine Arts Commission in 2019, she was Executive Director at Waterfall Arts, a community arts center in Belfast that she co-founded in 2000.
