9.20.23 Public Services is actively picking up storm debris at this time. They are starting in the south end and working north.
8.23.23 The recycle hopper and residential hopper have changed. They are clearly marked and any questions please see attendant.
On July 1, 2022 Transfer Station permits are increasing. $145.00 for a Resident Permit and $20.00 for a Second Sticker.
AS OF MAY 1ST, 2023 CITY HALL HOURS WILL CHANGE TO 7:30 AM TO 5:00 PM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY, AND 7:30 AM TO NOON ON FRIDAY.
FALL LEAF AND BRUSH PICK-UP 2023 The Public Services Department will be collecting garden debris/brush and leaves beginning the week of November 6, 2023. The crew will be making just one trip through the City to pick up garden debris/brush, so please have it placed for pick up by 7 AM on Nov. 6, 2023. Pick-up times will be 7 AM to 3 PM on weekdays. GARDEN DEBRIS/BRUSH will be taken if PLACED SEPARATELY from leaves along the edge of the sidewalk/street. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE STREET OR SIDEWALK LEAVES Should be raked into piles along the edge of the sidewalk/street and should be covered with a tarp or weighted material. If you would rather bring your brush and leaves to the transfer station there is no charge for the month of November. Keeping the leaf piles separate from the debris/brush piles helps us to properly recycle these items and makes the process more efficient. Please remember not to block any sidewalks or roadways.      A Listening Session will be held on Wednesday August 26th at 5:30 P.M.

    for the following purpose(s):

     To hear from members of the public who wish to comment in person about the potential Contract Zone at 41 Cranberry Isles Drive

    The Contract Zone between the City of Rockland and Sandy River Company would allow for construction of a nursing home and assisted living facility provided that the conditions of the contract zone are met.

    This Listening Session will be held outdoors behind City Hall, with social distancing and masks required.

     The meeting will be live streamed through the City’s website, and broadcast over Spectrum Cable Channel 1303. A recording of the meeting also will be available on the City’s website.

    Please note that this is not a regular Council meeting, and only the subject above will be addressed. Two City Councilors will attend in person; others will watch the recording that will be made available on the City’s website.

    Because of COVID-19, regular meetings of the Rockland City Council continue to be held via Zoom.  A formal Public Hearing on Ordinance #27 Authorizing Contract Zone – Sandy River Company, will be held via Zoom on September 14, with notice provided on the City’s website. Public comment for that meeting will be accepted via mail, email, and Zoom. Emails should be sent to the City Manager at tluttrell@rocklandmaine.gov. Zoom can be accessed with a phone, computer or mobile device; directions will be provided with the meeting notice.

    The supplemental Listening Session scheduled for August 26 is intended to provide an additional opportunity for comment, in case there are members of the public who do not have access to Zoom, or who prefer to make comments in person.
