8.23.23 The recycle hopper and residential hopper have changed. They are clearly marked and any questions please see attendant.
On July 1, 2022 Transfer Station permits are increasing. $145.00 for a Resident Permit and $20.00 for a Second Sticker.
AS OF MAY 1ST, 2023 CITY HALL HOURS WILL CHANGE TO 7:30 AM TO 5:00 PM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY, AND 7:30 AM TO NOON ON FRIDAY.
As of February 17th 2024 the Rockland transfer station will no longer accept ash from wood stoves, fire pits or any type of burning.

  • Kids Author Visit: Ellen Bryan Obed

    Celebrate February vacation by enjoying books and poems about winter at Rockland Public Library.

    Ellen Bryan Obed, Maine author, with nine books for children, will be sharing her stories with us in the Children’s Room, followed by a craft.

    Raised on a small farm in Waterville. Her writing reflects her love of nature and the seasons. Her books Twelve Kinds of Ice and A Letter from the Snow have winter settings in Maine while her book Little Snowshoe has a northern Labrador Canada.

    Ellen and her husband have recently taken up residence in Ellsworth.
