  • Eating Better On A Budget: Great Grains & Power Proteins

With Nancy Wood of Knox County Community Health Coalition. Making nutritious choices does not have to hurt your wallet. We all need protein—but most Americans eat enough, and some eat more than they need. Protein foods include both animal (meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs) and plant (beans, peas, soy products, nuts, and seeds) sources. Getting enough of these foods promotes health and can reduce your risk of certain diseases. Nancy will focus on strategies for saving money to achieve healthy living on a budget and discuss menu planning and easy meals to put together that are cost conscious. We will also learn about “frameworks” that assist in making stir-fries , casseroles, soups, salads, etc.
