9.20.23 Public Services is actively picking up storm debris at this time. They are starting in the south end and working north.
8.23.23 The recycle hopper and residential hopper have changed. They are clearly marked and any questions please see attendant.
On July 1, 2022 Transfer Station permits are increasing. $145.00 for a Resident Permit and $20.00 for a Second Sticker.
AS OF MAY 1ST, 2023 CITY HALL HOURS WILL CHANGE TO 7:30 AM TO 5:00 PM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY, AND 7:30 AM TO NOON ON FRIDAY.
FALL LEAF AND BRUSH PICK-UP 2023 The Public Services Department will be collecting garden debris/brush and leaves beginning the week of November 6, 2023. The crew will be making just one trip through the City to pick up garden debris/brush, so please have it placed for pick up by 7 AM on Nov. 6, 2023. Pick-up times will be 7 AM to 3 PM on weekdays. GARDEN DEBRIS/BRUSH will be taken if PLACED SEPARATELY from leaves along the edge of the sidewalk/street. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE STREET OR SIDEWALK LEAVES Should be raked into piles along the edge of the sidewalk/street and should be covered with a tarp or weighted material. If you would rather bring your brush and leaves to the transfer station there is no charge for the month of November. Keeping the leaf piles separate from the debris/brush piles helps us to properly recycle these items and makes the process more efficient. Please remember not to block any sidewalks or roadways.     FLANAGAN RECREATION CENTER ROOF REPLACEMENT/REPAIRS

    SPECIFICATIONS

    Bid Due Date:  Thursday, October 22, 2020 @ 2pm

    BASE BID:

    Flanagan Center Roof Replacement East Roof:

    1. Remove and dispose of all the existing roofing down to the wood decking. The roofing may be taken to the Rockland C&DD Landfill for disposal during normal business hours.
    2. Install a tapered insulation system to help provide proper drainage on the new roof. The insulation should be made out of isocyanurate and installed with dek-fast screws and plates.
    3. Fully adhere on layer of 0.060 EPDM to the insulation with bonding adhesive. Splice the new rubber to the existing rubber up on the walls.
    4. Fabricate and install two new lead coated copper drain sleeves to fit into the existing pipes.
    5. Apply two coats of Swepco White Silicone Roofing, or submit and equal, for all exposed rubber for approval.
    6. Complete this roofing replacement in the Fall of 2020.

     

    BID ALTERNATIVES: These repairs may be completed in the Spring/Summer of 2021.

    Bid Alt. 1: Roofing Repairs – Stage Roof, Gym Roof, Bowling Alley Roof and the Wing Roof

    1. Clean off all roofing surfaces of debris and bird poop.
    2. Repair all existing flashing and any bad spots in the existing rubber membrane.
    3. Apply two coats of Swepco White Silicone Roof Coating or submit an or-equal product for approval, for all exposed rubber.

    Bid Alt. 2: Roofing Repairs – Tower Room Roof

    1. Clean off all roofing surfaces of debris and bird poop.
    2. Peel back and re-glue the rubber surface on the west side of this roof that is separated from the insulation board.
    3. Repair existing flashing and rubber where bad spots exist.
    4. Apply two coats of Swepco White Silicone Roof Coating, or submit an or-equal product for approval, for all exposed rubber.

    Bid Alt. 3: Masonry Repairs – Parapet Walls Masonry Repairs at Flanagan Front Roof Line Coat a 30 inch wide bank of masonry on the outside of the parapet walls that tie into the roofs on the front part of the building with Swepco Masonry coating, or submit an or-equal product for approval.
