Pedal over to Chapman Park before work or school to celebrate Bike to Work and School Day 2025! We’re excited to once again invite South School students and their families to join us at Chapman Park in Rockland for another morning of free fun on bikes. Here’s what to expect:
Breakfast Snacks
Snack on bagels, donuts and coffee, all kindly donated by Good Tern Co-Op, Ruckus Donuts, and Rock City Coffee.
Bike Obstacle Course
Bicycle Coalition of Maine volunteers will lead students through a mini biking obstacle course and teach bike safety.
Bike Bus to South School
At 8:15 a.m., students and their families are invited to join a group bike ride to school, chaperoned by Rockland Police Department’s Bike Patrol Unit and volunteers. See the route map for more information.
Free ABC Bike Checks
Make sure your bike is ready for biking season: Maine Sport and Sidecountry Sports will be onsite offering free Air, Brake, and Chain checks.
Pedal Your Own Smoothie
Take a spin on MaineHealth Community Health’s smoothie bike to blend your own fruit smoothie using your pedal power.
Rockland Bike Infrastructure Chat
Connect with City staff about Rockland’s Bike Route Network Development Plan and tell us where you think bike facility development should be prioritized.
