Pier Kids: A Film Screening from POV
Pier Kids is a 2019 film by Elegance Bratton and Chester Algernal. On the Christopher Street Pier in New York City, homeless queer and trans youth of color forge friendships and chosen families, withstanding tremendous amounts of abuse while working to carve out autonomy in their lives. With intimate, immersive access to these fearless young people, Pier Kids highlights the precarity and resilience of a community many choose to ignore.
This event is a collaboration with the award-winning documentary series POV (www.pbs.org/pov).
This event will be presented in person at the Library. For more information, or to request a Zoom link to watch from home, email elewis@rocklandmaine.gov.
