Music Together® is 45-minute early childhood music and movement for families. Sponsored by the Rockland Public Library, a FREE class conducted the last Saturday of the month. Shannon Burns, talented music teacher, leads families in circle songs, instrument play and rhythm.
Space is limited, and first come first serve. Sign in starting at 10:00 AM at the front desk of the library. No registration in advance.
This Music Together® of Midcoast Music Academy class is for ages 0 through 5 with caregiver(s). The class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages to foster natural, family-style learning. Each child participates at his or her own level. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience. Midcoast Music Academy is a community music school that was founded in 2012.
Shannon Burns discovered her love of the arts at an early age- dancing, playing piano and cello, singing in choirs, and performing in plays and musicals throughout her childhood and into early adulthood. With over twenty years’ experience, Shannon has spent her career as a social worker and rehabilitation counselor supporting children, youth, and their families to determine and reach their life goals. Shannon is excited to be a registered Music Together teacher. She loves the philosophy that Music is for Everyone, and Everyone is Musical. She looks forward to sharing the joy and fun of Music Together with Midcoast families.
