  • Mainely Power: A Zoom Maine Author Talk by Matt Cost

Mystery author Matt Cost will provide a reading from his book Mainely Power, which was selected as the Maine Humanities Council’s ReadME fiction book for 2021. Set in Brunswick, Maine, the novel features a colorful cast and thrilling suspense. Goff Langdon, private detective and mystery bookshop owner, must untangle a web of intrigue when he is hired for a case and framed for not one, but two murders. After the reading, Cost will answer questions, share his writing process, and discuss other topics related to mystery novels.

Matt Cost is the award-winning author of the Mainely Mystery series. He has two novels set to be released in 2021: Wolfe Trap, the start of a new mystery series, in June, and Love in a Time of Hate, a historical fiction novel, in August. Over the years, Cost has owned a video store, a mystery bookstore, and a gym. He has also taught history and coached just about every sport imaginable. Cost now spends his days at the computer, writing. He lives in Brunswick, Maine with his wife, Harper and two dogs.
