Friends of Rockland Library Book Sale
The Friends have been busy gathering and sorting books, and there will be classics, adult fiction and nonfiction, cookbooks, gardening books and children’s books. More than 3,000 gently used books will be on sale in all subjects. There will also be a “book-tique” under a separate tent for special, individually priced books.
Proceeds of the sale will support the Friends of Rockland Public Library’s severely impacted 2020 budget that funds library cards for Knox County students, all children’s and young adult books, computers and computer maintenance, interlibrary loan services, Thursday evening adult programming, elimination of overdue fines and more.
Due to the pandemic, the book sale will be held outside. The downstairs of the library, including the Book Stop, is still closed to the public. Masks and social distancing norms are required for this sale.
The sale will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cost is $10 per bag, (bring your own bag). Members of Friends of Rockland Public Library are invited to shop first, from 8:30 until 9 a.m. Anyone interested in joining or renewing their Friends membership may do so at a table set up outside of the sale tent.
“We are so excited to finally have a book sale! Our summer sale is one of our biggest fundraisers. More importantly, I miss seeing my community of library friends. I hope you stop by on Saturday and Sunday, pick out some books, and say hello,” says President of the Friends of Rockland Public Library Rebecca Albright.
In case of rain, the sale will be postponed until Oct. 3 and 4.
