Kid’s Illustration Workshop
Co-hosted by the Farnsworth Museum
In this workshop with illustrator Annette LeBlanc Cate, we will take a look at some of her favorite picture books as well as her own artwork, and discuss what it is that makes art a compelling part of storytelling. Then, we’ll create a finished piece of art, exploring some of the steps a real illustrator takes: sketching, reference, storyboarding, editing, and a discussion of various art techniques.
Annette LeBlanc Cate grew up in the Boston area and is the illustrator of two books, The Magic Rabbit and Look Up! Birdwatching in Your Own Backyard, both published by Candlewick Press. She is also the former art director for the Peabody-award-winning animated series Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, as well as a long-time contributor to Appleseeds magazine.
The program is for ages 7 to 12.
Space is limited, so call the Library at (207) 594-0310 to reserve a spot.
