Former Russian journalist, South African associate professor, and new Mainer Lena Faber, will talk about her new project FolkHistory http://folkhistory.online, started in the Midcoast in a partnership with Adult Education network. The idea about the project on social history started 15 years ago in Russia, when she was writing a newspaper column. The FolkHistory media portal will draw the picture of real people, real lives, real struggles, and real accomplishments, beyond the official history of wars and political movements as major events, and the lives of celebrities as major characters. She also will explain how to better deal with old personal photos, so everybody can write their blog, book, and create online photo-gallery at the same time.
