Children’s Garden Seed Program
It’s voting day—for Seeds for the Children’s Garden! Children will vote on which out-of-the-ordinary seeds we will start for this year’s crop. Come learn about the choices and vote for your favorite in the Children’s Room!
The Children’s Garden is 30×35 feet, with space for gardening, and seating. It’s accessible only through the Children’s Room. Library children start seeds, plant, tend, and enjoy the produce; this is an all-year-round educational opportunity to encourage responsible husbandry. Children will choose from many unusual varieties of vegetables supplied by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. For more information contact Jean Young, Children’s Librarian, at (207)594-0310.
