  • Reading Room Concert: Abigail Nash on Violin

    Abigail Nash

Abigail Nash is a local musician and artist. Her talents include piano, violin, viola, and vocals. Her musical journey began at the age of 5, and music has been a part of daily life ever since. In college, Abigail pursued a degree in Music Education, focusing on viola and choir. Since graduation, Abigail has pursued two tracks of music simultaneously- performance and education. She was a band and choral director for RSU #13 for five years, taught violin at local Montessori schools, was Music Director for local independent schools, was accepted as a Teaching Artist through the Maine Arts Commission, and is a long-time faculty member at Midcoast Music Academy (MCMA). She continues to teach privately, both for herself and MCMA, and is an active Teaching Artist.

Abigail has continued to study viola, and performed with many groups such as Bagaduce Chorale, Bar Harbor’s Summer Music Festival, Berkshire Choral International, and others. Abigail collaborates frequently with local musicians on piano, violin/viola, and voice, and is currently working on her own original music as well as pursuing art professionally in various forms.

She looks forward to the Reading Room concert, where she will perform a selection of beautiful classical melodies on the violin, mixed in with some lively fiddle numbers.
