  • Local History Talk: Railroad History from Boston to Rockland

    All aboard!

Co-sponsored with the Rockland Historical Society. This year is the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Rockland Train Station. In honor of that milestone, civil engineer George Barrett of Cumberland, Maine, will give a presentation on the history of railroads from their beginning before the Civil War to their progress up the coast to Rockland. Barrett will include the railroad to Union and the Limerock Railroad around Rockland. Following the program, we will adjourn to the Historical Society Museum for refreshments and conversation.
