The crew will be making just one trip through the City to pick up garden debris/brush, so please have it placed for pick up by 7 AM on Nov. 6, 2023. Pick-up times will be 7 AM to 3 PM on weekdays. GARDEN DEBRIS/BRUSH will be taken if PLACED SEPARATELY from leaves along the edge of the sidewalk/street. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE STREET OR SIDEWALK LEAVES Should be raked into piles along the edge of the sidewalk/street and should be covered with a tarp or weighted material. If you would rather bring your brush and leaves to the transfer station there is no charge for the month of November. Keeping the leaf piles separate from the debris/brush piles helps us to properly recycle these items and makes the process more efficient. Please remember not to block any sidewalks or roadways. If you have any questions, please call Rockland Public Services at 207-594-0320.

  • Festival of Lights Tree Auction & Wreath Raffle

The Friends of the Rockland Public Library will hold their annual Festival of Lights Tree and Wreath Silent Auction and Raffle on Saturday, November 26, here at the Library. More than 30 gloriously decorated tabletop trees and wreaths donated by local businesses will be on display. Bidding on the individual trees and wreaths will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. Winning raffle tickets will be drawn at 4 p.m. as well.

This year, businesses had the option to decorate either a wreath or a tree. We are also offering several decorated trees as a raffle. Raffle tickets will go on sale at the library’s Checkout Desk soon. Cost is 2/$5 or $3 each. All proceeds from this event will go directly to support the Rockland Public Library.

Everyone is invited to visit the library, which will be full of holiday decorations, on November 26 to have a warm cup of cider, treats baked by the talented Friends bakers, and to bid on your favorite wreath and/or tree(s)! In addition, The Book Stop, home of gently used books, will also be open from 1 to 4 p.m. for holiday shoppers.

We are truly grateful for the generosity of the many businesses participating this year and for the public support of this event. If you want to have a great time while supporting your library, start your holidays Saturday and come to the Festival of Lights Tree and Wreath Silent Auction and Raffle!
