  • 4-H Summer of Science

    Kathryn Jensen from the Knox-Lincoln UMaine Extension 4-H will be here teaching kids about Ocean Science with fun, weekly STEM activities for grades 3-7.

    Kids will be able to act as pirates and use the Engineer Design Process and the science of ocean waters to confront real world challenges to navigate their pirate ship. Lessons are delivered once a week, for five weeks. All supplies are provided and this program is FREE! Ages 7-12 welcome to attend! Children under 10 must be supervised by a parent. Please sign-up with the Rockland Library at the front desk or by calling 207-594-0310. The weekly activities are scheduled as follows:

    Fridays from 10:30am-12:00pm

    Week 1: July 12th Seaweed Filter

    Week 2: July 26th Layers of the Ocean

    Week 3: August 1st Salt Water Density

    Week 4: August 9th Catapults

    Week 5: August 16th Stretch Your Potential
